Phenology Art Contest

Phenology Art Contest

Are you a current high school student?

Do you enjoy painting or designing? Do you find inspiration from nature?

Would you like to connect with local artists, schools, and other organizations?
Interested in working on an art project that may not only help you, but also helps connect people to science and nature?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, Refuge Friends Inc invites you to participate in an art contest to help draw attention to the refuge’s upcoming “Phenology Trail”! Students and other citizen scientists will record real data on several different species throughout the seasons at one of three refuge locations.

What does art have to do with any of this??

Refuge Friends Inc is hosting an art contest for talented young artists to design 3 posters to be displayed at the refuge’s Bloomington and Rapids Lake Education and Visitor Centers. Posters must include: logos of the organizations involved, the name of the refuge location, and all of the key plant and animal species represented.

Prizes may include art materials, art classes, and gift certificates. The winning posters will be displayed in both of the refuge visitor centers!
