Free Entrance -National Public Lands DaySaturday, September 24, 2016
Saturday, September 24, 2016 - 1/2 hour before Sunrise to 1/2 hour after Sunset. The $4.00 entrance fee will be waived to celebrate National Public Lands Day and to invite people to visit Bombay Hook. It's a great opportunity to spend the day exploring or relaxing in nature. National Public Lands Day is a fee-free entrance day at many federal public lands including, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or U.S. Forest Service. It's also Bike Your Park Day!
Bombay Hook is open from 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset and invites individuals and families to tour the 12-mile wildlife drive and to walk 5 short walking trails. The Refuge provides a variety of habitats for wildlife. You can bring your bike for 'Ride Your Park Day!' If you see Monarchs on your visit remember where you saw them and mark them on the map in the Visitor Center.
- Borrow a pair of binoculars from the Visitor Center.
- Borrow a bird identification book from the Visitor Center.
- Bring your bike and bug spray.
