Friends Workshop: Birds and Beasts of Brown CanyonApril 20-21, 2013
Weekend Workshop Leader: Jeff Babson, Regional Naturalist and Owner/Leader of Sky Island Tours This workshop will give participants an opportunity to see the BANWR Brown Canyon area during the spring bird migration. The program will focus on resident and migrating birds of the area and other canyon critters. On Saturday afternoon, we will do a brief reconnaissance of the spring canyon. After dinner, Jeff will present a slide show and talk about the area birds and their migratory and molting behavior. On Sunday morning before breakfast, Jeff will lead an early walk in the canyon near the lodge. After breakfast, we will walk up canyon to further explore the beastly world of Brown Canyon, then return in time for lunch. The event will end at about 2:00 PM on Sunday.
Fee includes three gourmet catered meals and overnight lodging; $105 for FOBANWR members; $125 for non-members.
The lodge has 8 bedrooms (each with multiple twin beds) sharing 4 bathrooms on two floor levels. Participants must bring their own pillows, bed linens, and bathroom linens and toiletries. Overnight workshops run from Saturday 1:00 PM to about 2:00 PM on Sunday.
