Watershed Education
The Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge is working to expand watershed education within the state of Utah. An emerging partnership with Utah State Parks will help accomplish this goal and encourage a sense of ownership for students, parents and teachers throughout Utah and specifically along the Bear River Watershed. The Bear River Watershed comprises 7,500 square miles of mountain and valley lands. The Bear River crosses state boundaries five times and is the largest river in the western hemisphere that does not empty into the ocean; instead it ends up in the Great Salt Lake.
