2011 Career Discovery Internship Program

Jeffrey Ortiz

I am participating in the CDIP for the simple fact of gaining real hands-on experience and insight of potential career paths with a federal agency. Beyond the simplicity, working outdoors, gaining more in-depth knowledge about our planet’s resources, plants and wildlife, and the impacts that humans have brought upon the land, water, and air qualities has become an extremely important facet of my existence. I hope this internship provides me with a glimpse into ways of better managing and protection of biodiversity, land and water ecosystems, and gain a stronger understanding of the delicate balance between man and nature.
