Alexandria Moore

My name is Alexandria Moore, but for all who know me, I’m just Alex. Growing up Ann Arbor, Michigan, in a greener generation than that of my parents, I have been thoroughly influenced and affected by the concepts of sustainability, conservation, and restoration; I have a reverence for this planet and its inhabitants that goes farther and deeper than my words could ever express. Majoring in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan and as a current intern through the Student Conservation Association with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, I hope to one day play a role, however small, in the ever-challenging effort to save this Earth.

When I’m not comprehensively consumed by school or temporary employment, I enjoy spending my time reading anything and everything, writing short stories, drawing, socializing, and petting my cats. At the end of the day, though, everything I do is inspired by emotion; regardless of whether or not I’ve created them through words or if someone/something has inspired them within me, emotion is a driving force – a force that compels. What I hope to do is create enough emotion in enough people so that the concepts that have been instilled within me (sustainability, conservation, and restoration) can be emphasized and propagated so that we can stop digging the hole and start climbing out of it.
