Honoring our veterans: Charlean Malone

Charlean Malone, a human resource assistant for the Service in the Northeast Region, is also an active member of the Air National Guard. She was deployed to Southeast Asia for six months in 2011. Malone decided to join the National Guard for the opportunity to serve her country, travel, and for the educational and training experiences. She graduated in May 2012 with a bachelor’s of arts degree in human resource development from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. "Pursuing my studies is a balancing act with my commitments to family, the military and to civilian public service. I made the choice to attend college because of the positive experience and mentoring I've received in the National Guard," said Malone. She plans to pursue graduate studies in educational leadership in the future.
