It takes teachers and administrators through the entire process, outlining the steps needed to implement a successful, sustainable schoolyard habitat. The guide includes examples of master plans, guidance on budgets and timelines and sample designs for project features. Typical projects include pollinator habitats, meadows, forests and wetlands.

The Schoolyard Habitat Curriculum Guide

The Schoolyard Habitat Curriculum Guide was developed by CT Audubon in partnership with USFWS. It showcases Audubon's expertise in connecting people with nature and helps teachers use the schoolyard habitat with their class while meeting State Standards. The Guide includes detailed activities, extension projects and tips for teaching outside. While it was designed in CT, it can be used by all elementary teachers to facilitate meaningful outdoor learning experiences.
