External Affairs staff members work to enhance understanding and communication between the Service and the public, Native Americans and Members of Congress through the news media, publications, the Internet and a variety of outreach activities. Special events such as open houses and hatchery or refuge dedications attract hundreds of fish and wildlife enthusiasts and provide an opportunity to share information about the environment with individuals in surrounding communities.
