Sturgeon Research / Activities
Jeffrey Ziegeweid works on Lake Sturgeon restoration in the Rainy, Upper Mississippi, and St. Croix River Basins. Jeffrey’s current studies involve measuring trace metal concentrations in water and cross sections of pectoral fin rays to determine whether connected water bodies have distinct water signatures and whether these signatures can be used to identify migratory histories of individual sturgeon. He also has previous experience working with shortnose sturgeon.
