Prairie Wetlands Learning Center 'Enter into the Prairie' Pageant

September 7, 2011

The Prairie Wetlands Learning Center hosted the "Enter into the Prairie" environmental education pageant during the 2011 Return to Prairie Days in Fergus Falls, Minn.

With close to 500 visitors attending the four-hour event, young and old learned about duck banding, monarch tagging and had the opportunity to view two productions of "Enter into the Prairie."

The pageant was narrated with descriptions of the life cycle of the prairie as the audience sat in the outdoor amphitheater.

As the narrator described the life cycle of the prairie, giant puppets were erected in synchronization with the story. It was a wonderful fusion of education and the arts.
