The 2012 Minnesota Waterfowl Symposium to be held in February
The 14th annual Minnesota Waterfowl Symposium will be held in conjunction with the Minnesota Decoy Collectors Show from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., on February 4 at the Ramada Mall of America. The symposium will feature presentations by expert waterfowl biologists and leading conservationists from state, federal and non-governmental organizations. It will also offer skill demonstrations on hunting related activities.
The symposium is free and open to the public; however, limited seating will be available.
The program will address the current status of waterfowl populations, hunting underutilized species, scaup management, habitat concerns in Minnesota, mentoring opportunities and waterfowl banding study results. It will also feature various demonstration booths including gun-fitting, waterfowl identification, and game cooking. The symposium is sponsored by the Minnesota Waterfowl Association, the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Ducks Unlimited, Delta Waterfowl, and other partners.
The Ramada is located at 2300 East American Blvd., Bloomington, Minn., near the Mall of America. For further information about the Minnesota Waterfowl Association, symposium updates or the Minnesota Decoy Collectors Show, call 952-767-0320 or visit:
