Final Environmental Assessment for the
City of Clinton Transient Boating Facility on
the Mississippi River, Clinton County, Iowa

The final Environmental Assessment (EA)  for transient boating facilities at the existing City marina on the Mississippi River was approved on November 27, 2002.  The proposed alternative was selected which is to construct 50 slips for transient boats greater than 26 feet in length and to upgrade the existing marina facilities.

The project is proposed by the City of Clinton, Iowa and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for funding through the Boating Infrastructure Grant Program (Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration Act), administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  While this completes the NEPA actions for the Service, final grant approval has not been completed for this project and construction may not commence until notice of grant approval is provided by the Service through normal channels.

Provided below is a copy of the final Environmental Assessment and the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).   Printed copies of the final EA are also available from:  City of Clinton, Attn:   Jeffrey L. Kooistra, City Administrator, 611 S. 3rd Street, P.O. Box 2958, Clinton, Iowa 52733-2958; (telephone 563/242-2144).
