Kay Honetschlager Marks 30 Years of Service

Starting with the USFWS in 1984 as a typist in Engineering, Honetschlager became a Realty Specialist in 1993 and has been in her current Senior Realty Specialist position since 2000.

Honetschlager is known for her optimism and ability to take on complex projects and see them through, from start to finish. She has been instrumental in acquiring land for wetland production areas, Glacial Ridge and Whittlesey Creek National Wildlife Refuges, and most recently, the Upper Mississippi River National Fish and Wildlife Refuge. Nationally recognized as an expert in government relocation regulations for private landowners who sell their land for conservation, Honetschlager is a member of the faculty at National Conservation Training Center Realty Academy.

Committed to the Service’s mission and most importantly, it's people, Honetschlager has also previously served as a member of the regional office social committee. We appreciate her dedication!
