"Combating fire at Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge. John C. Harmon, atop the large fire truck, is transferring water from the larger vehicle to the smaller 120 gallon tank of the fire jeep. Lynn A. Greenwalt, son of Refuge Manager E.J. Greenwalt, is just climbing into the jeep. The fire they were combating was on rough terrain and only the smaller jeep could make its way among the boulders to fight the fire." October 1948. Lynn Greenwalt went on to serve as the Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service from 1973-1981.
