What is the SPD Library?

The SPD Library contains position descriptions (PDs) that have been classified and approved for use throughout the Service. The Library contains a variety of SPDs in professional, administrative, technical, and clerical positions. In addition, the Library also contains other HR products that are related to the SPD, including job analysis, crediting plan, performance plan, and interview questions. The Library was designed to be a time-saving tool for managers and supervisors to quickly locate PDs that cover their positions. Use of an SPD streamlines the recruitment process as the positions do not require further classification analysis. Some regions also have Regional SPDs available for use. Please contact your Regional HR Office for information concerning Regional SPDs. If you wish to submit a position for consideration as a Service-wide SPD, please contact Megan Dreher, in the Branch of Human Resources, through your Regional HR Office.
