Question: If someone was interested in a career as a biologist or soeone involved in wildlife, what would you recommend to a young person coming to the field?

Answer (Scott Schliebe): Well, I guess the first thing they should do is develop a strategy or a plan to meet the educational requirements. There are a number of websites that provide a good list of colleges that have very good and credible wildlife programs. I would start with that. I would learn what the core requirements are for a degree in wildlife conservation. And while I was in school, I would recommend that these students look at career opportunties --temporary employment within the wildlife field. And I would recommend they look for someone to mentor them -- someone to help them start developing their career and giving them exposure to on-the-job type of training. I think that would be a really good start.
