Friends of the Savannah Coastal Wildlife Refuges 1st Annual Photographer Contest

Calling all photographers! In celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Week (October 14 – 20), the Friends of the Savannah Coastal Wildlife Refuges have announced their 1st annual refuge photography contest. To participate, simply visit one of our local National Wildlife Refuges (Blackbeard Island, Harris Neck, Pinckney Island, Savannah, or Wassaw) between now and the entry deadline and start shooting! Submit your best images, and you just might win a prize!

The photo contest is geared towards photographers of all ages, with separate prizes being awarded to youth and adult entries. Judging will be in three different categories; wildlife, landscapes/waterscapes, and people in nature. Deadline for entries is December 1, 2012, and winning entries will be announced on December 8, 2012. Click the link below to download official contest rules and entry forms.

Directions to Harris Neck NWR

Harris Neck NWR is located in McIntosh County, Georgia, 5 miles north of Eulonia and 50 air miles south of the port city of Savannah. To reach Harris Neck, take Exit 67 off I-95 and travel south on U.S. 17 for approximately one mile, then east on Harris Neck Road for seven miles to the main entrance gate.
