Stalks

We enjoy having visitors and volunteers at our hatchery. You can come watch the hatchery at work (see our visit page) or learn how to lend a hand.

  • Volunteer

    Elk

The hatcheries provide local individuals the opportunity to volunteer by assisting hatchery staff with Kid's Fishing Day, fish production, and light maintenance activities. All volunteers compliment our hatchery programs and offer valuable support. To volunteer, contact cheri_anderson@fws.gov, or call Cheri at (509) 493-1730.

  • Hatchery Hosts

    Elk

The Complex has an active Hatchery Host program, with three hatcheries offering opportunities: Carson, Eagle Creek, and Little White Salmon. Hosts spend 3-4 months on station providing groundskeeping assistance and staffing visitor contact stations, meeting and greeting visitors. Carson has two RV pads for Hosts, and the other two hatcheries have one site each. These provide electrical, water, sewer, and telephone hook-ups, with laundry on site. Hosts only have to volunteer 20 hours/week to the hatchery. Please contact cheri_anderson@fws.gov or call Cheri at (509) 493-1730 for further information about our program.
