Read Your Way into the New Year!
This winter, the USFWS Library invites you to read along with us. America’s Wild Read is featuring A Woman Among Wolves by Diane K. Boyd, a compelling memoir that takes readers deep into the wild, where Boyd’s extraordinary journey as a woman working with wolves in the rugged wilderness unfolds.
Determined, courageous, and passionate wildlife biologist Diane Boyd, studied and advocated for wolves in the wilds of Montana near Glacier National Park. When she began her career in the 1970s, she was the only female biologist in the United States researching and radio collaring wolves. This beautifully written book offers a fascinating look into the early days of wolf research to present day challenges of wolf management and Boyd’s explorations of the intricate balance of human and wolf coexistence.
We invite you to be part of our next America's Wild Read book club discussion on Thursday, February 27 at 3 PM ET. Please register in advance.
