Celebrate the arrival of spring with the Friends of Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge, Inc. This FREE day full of fun and learning has something for everyone. There will be nature related exhibits and activities inside the Refuge Headquarters buildings plus a bald eagle watch at Cayuga Overlook and guided nature walks at some of our nature trails. Be sure to stop at the Information Tent for a free backpack for the kids. The Flyway Nature Store will also be open for purchases.
Date and Time: Saturday, May 6 from 10:00am-3:00pm.
Location: Refuge Headquarters, 1101 Casey Road, Basom, NY
Activity Level and Accessibility: Easy, can involve walking and standing. You will need to drive to Cayuga Overlook and the nature trails where guided walks will be held. Nature trails are mostly flat but have gravel surface. An ADA accessible observation deck is available at Cayuga Overlook.
What to Bring: If you have them, bring along your binoculars! Spotting scopes will be available at Cayuga Overlook for the Bald Eagle Watch for use at no cost.
