Bird-nado Watch

Come see the Tree Swallows before they’re gone! Join a refuge staff member Monday, August 28th to look for swarms of Tree Swallow flying over the marsh at dusk (or as some friends from our kids program last week called it, the “Bird-nado”).

We hope to see thousands of Tree Swallows flying and feeding on insects and beginning to roost in the tall marsh grass as the sun sets. These beautiful birds stop at Parker River for a few weeks during their southward migration to rest and fatten up, then head down to the southern US and Central America to spend the winter. We will also look for shorebirds and wading birds like egrets and sandpipers in the North Pool.

Registration not required, drop in anytime.
