Things are looking up for the federally endangered Houston toad (Bufo houstonensis), thanks in part to the Boy Scouts of America. In 2007, the Scouts enrolled in a Safe Harbor Agreement under which they agreed to several land management activities aimed at restoring habitat for the toad on their Lost Pines Scout Reservation in Bastrop County.
