Branch of Economics (ECN)

The Branch of Economics (ECN) operates under the Joint Administrative Operations’ (JAO) Division of Policy, Economics, Risk Management and Analytics (PERMA). ECN provides economic analytic support to all Fish and Wildlife Service programs. ECN has both in-house and contracting capabilities to support the Service's mission and goals. We conduct economic analyses for regulatory decision-making, hydropower relicensing, endangered species critical habitat designation, natural resource damage assessment, National Wildlife Refuges and National Fish Hatcheries and natural resource based economic development.

ECN is your first stop for any kind of economic question. All of our services are free to Service units. Please call us early in your regulatory, NRDA, or planning process so that we can help you fulfill your mission. We have more than 50 years of experience with Service economics so we can assist in many ways.
