First Day of Sale ceremony and event

The 2019-2020 Federal Duck Stamp and Junior Duck Stamp go on sale on June 28, 2019. The First Day of Sale ceremony and event will occur at the Bass Pro Shop in at 1935 S Campbell Ave., Springfield, Missouri from 10 a.m. to noon. Doors open at 7:00 and stamps will be available for purchase after the ceremony.

The theme of this year's 86th annual Federal Duck Stamp is "Celebrating our Waterfowl Hunting Heritage". The stamp features a Wood Duck and a decoy created by Scot Storm.

As a mandatory licensing requirement for waterfowl hunters over the age of 16, waterfowl hunters have been the primary group responsible for raising over $1 billion to conserve wildlife and healthy wetland habitats within the National Wildlife Refuge System . Not just hunters and ducks benefit from these healthy habitats - wetlands provide vital habitat for many other species, serve as natural filters to provide safe drinking water and help abate effects from flooding events.

The Junior Stamp features a Harlequin Duck by Niocole Jeon. This $5 stamp is sold to raise awareness and funds for the Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Program. This program raises awareness of wildlife and conservation across the U.S. and its territories.
