Volunteers Needed!

This spring the USFWS Migratory Bird Program is starting a collision monitoring program at the SkyLine Buildings.

USFWS Falls Church Offices and Participation in Glass and Building Monitoring

Reflective Glass credit USFWS

Problem: Birds do not perceive the glass as a barrier. This is especially true with highly reflective glass. Birds attempt to fly through the windows, causing injuries and usually death. Birds may also see the reflection of trees or sky or they see plants inside the space and think they can access them and because they don?t perceive the glass, they fly into the window.

Research activity: Participate in monitoring the USFWS Buildings at Skyline located at 5275 Leesburg Pike Falls Church, VA building complex.

Spring monitoring begins April 1 until May 31st.

No fooling we start on April 1st. Be an early bird and join us at 6:30 a.m. on April 1st in the front lobby of our building for our first walk. We will be out about 30 - 40 minutes.

If you want to volunteer just send your name to me with the dates you can commit to walking the route at our complex. Alicia
