Anchorage Fish & Wildlife Field Office - Fisheries Program

Job Opportunities

Each field season, the AFWFO hosts volunteers and hires several biological science technicians and student interns to work on projects throughout areas of southcentral and southwest Alaska. The work sites are stunningly beautiful and wild. Living conditions may be rugged with no utility service and road access. Travel to field camps may be by float plane, boat or automobile. Field crew personnel receive training in bear behavior and the use of firearms for bear protection, boat operator safety, and wilderness first aid and gain training and experience in fisheries research techniques.
