Announcement - 2006 Tribal Wildlife Grant Awards

On Monday, May 22, 2006, the NAL, via telephone, provided notification and congratulations to eight Tribes within R2 on being selected to receive either a 2006 Tribal Wildlife Grant (TWG) or Tribal Landowner Incentive Program (TLIP) grant award.  The following Tribes will receive a TWG award: Alabama-Coushatta Tribe, TX; Peoria Tribe, OK; Pueblo of Laguna, NM; Pueblo of Santa Clara, NM; Ohkay Owingeh (Pueblo of San Juan), NM; and Pueblo of Taos, NM. The total of all TWG awards is $1,454,604.  The following Tribes will receive a TLIP grant award: Navajo Nation, AZ; Pueblo of Santo Domingo, NM.  The total of all TLIP grant awards is $298,348.  The grand total of all 2006 TWG and TLIP awards is $1,752,952.  Contact the NAL for more specific information on what the TWG and TLIP grant awards will accomplish.
