The National Wildlife Refuge System is the only network of federal lands
dedicated specifically to preservation of wildlife and their habitats.
Only activities considered compatible with the preservation of wildlife
and their habitats are allowed. Regulations protect visitors and resources.
Refuge Access
Refuges, including roads and trails, are open from sunrise to sunset.
Motor Vehicles and Bicycles
Motor vehicles and bicycles are permitted only on roads open to vehicle
access. Please park only in designated areas.
Pets
For both your pet's and wildlife's safety, please leash your pet and
walk them only at information kiosks and trailhead parking areas. Pets
are not allowed on hiking trails.
Hiking
Some trails close seasonally (closure in effect from October 1 through
March 31) to reduce disturbance to wintering waterfowl. Please observe
posted regulations.
Hunting
No hunting opportunities exist at the refuge
Fishing
No fishing opportunities exist at the refuge
Firearms
Firearms and other weapons are prohibited.
Artifacts
Collecting historical objects or artifacts is not permitted.
Prohibited Activities
The Willamette Valley refuges are not parks. Activities such as camping,
fires, horseback riding, jogging, kite flying and cross-country skiing
are not allowed. Collecting animals and plants is also prohibited.
