WHITE RIVER NWR QUOTA HUNTS

Instructions For the First Time Applicant

When applying for the muzzleloader or modern gun quota hunt, applicant must specify and apply for ONLY ONE UNIT (North or South).

Print or type applicants name & complete mailing address on the front of an Official U. S. postcard (postage affixed). Specify Unit selection on the back of the postcard. Separate postcard applications are required for each person and for each hunt. Applications must be submitted in an envelope addressed to the White River NWR,

P. O. Box 205, St. Charles, AR 72140. Indicate Unit preference on the envelope. To apply as a group, (maximum of 10), all applications must be received in the same envelope.

Successfully selected quota hunt applicants will be required to pay a $12.50 fee before being issued a permit.

All duplicates and the members of their party will be disqualified from the draw process.

  Muzzleloader applications will be accepted postmarked only during June.

Modern Gun applications will be accepted postmarked only during July.

Quota Muzzleloader Deer Hunt

North & South Units : October 17 - 19, 2009.

Quota permit required. Limit one deer either sex. No antler restrictions for deer.

Non-quota Muzzleloader Deer Hunt

North Unit Only: October 20 - 23, 2009.

Limit one deer buck only. See bag limit section. Only user permit required. No antler restrictions for deer.

All non-quota hunting closed during the quota deer hunts in those units open to quota hunting.

Bear season closed on all refuge lands including cooperatively managed tracts.

Quota Modern Gun Deer Hunt

North & South Units : November 14 - 16, 2009.

Quota permit required. Limit one deer either sex. No antler restrictions for deer. Kansas Lake Unit closed.

Non-quota Modern Gun Deer Hunt

North Unit Only: November 17 - 18, 2009.

Limit one deer buck only. See bag limit section. Only user permit required. No antler restrictions for deer.

One deer limit refuge wide during the muzzleloader

season (October 17 - 23). One deer limit refuge wide during the modern gun season

(November 14 – 18).
