Wildlife Observation and Photography

There are four hiking trails on the refuge: Wapack trail (4.0 miles on the refuge), Cliff trail (1.1 miles), and Ted’s and Carolyn’s trails (3 miles on the refuge).

Hiking and through-backpacking are popular along the refuge trails, which lead to the peak of North Pack Monadnock. Located on the refuge, this small mountain offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area and Mount Monadnock.

Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on the trails are popular in wintertime, and are permitted during daylight hours when there is sufficient snow cover.

Hours

The refuge trails are open year round, seven days a week from dawn until dusk.
