Visitor Opportunities
Wildlife Observation and PhotographyThere are four hiking trails on the refuge: Wapack trail (4.0 miles on the refuge), Cliff trail (1.1 miles), and Ted’s and Carolyn’s trails (3 miles on the refuge). Hiking and through-backpacking are popular along the refuge trails, which lead to the peak of North Pack Monadnock. Located on the refuge, this small mountain offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area and Mount Monadnock. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on the trails are popular in wintertime, and are permitted during daylight hours when there is sufficient snow cover.
