A new, handicapped accessible observation tower has been constructed on the Mollicy Unit of the refuge. The tower, easily reached by gravel road, is open to the public year round during daylight hours only. A bald eagle nest can be viewed through binoculars from the tower. The eagles usually have an active nest between February and June. In all but the hottest months of summer, waterfowl can be seen feeding or loafing in the flooded fields.
