Dogs are not allowed on the Refuge at any time, with the exception of assistance dogs.

DIRECTIONS:
Take 80th Ave west past Wadsworth and just east of Kippling Blvd.
The Refuge is located on the south side of 80th.
Refuge information is available at the entrance kiosk by the parking area. |

The Refuge provides several wildlife-oriented recreational opportunities to the public:
- Environmental education programs
- Guided tours
- Service projects available throughout the year
- Several trails are open to the public seasonally
- Two areas for public use
- East Side: Open May - September (Closed October - April)

- West Side: Open year round, dawn to dusk, entrance available from the medical center parking lot)
Visitors will see a variety of WILDLIFE and HABITAT:
- cattails, milkweed, rushes and willows
- brome grass dominates (with needle-and thread grass)
- yucca, prickly pear, and rabbitbrush
- more than 113 bird species
- deer, turtles, fox, ducks and voles
