Early Morning Bird Walks

6:30am & 8:30am

Meet at Wildlife Center. Approximately 2 hours and 2 miles in duration. No reservations required.   
Guided Nature Walks

10:30am, 12:00pm,

12:30pm, & 1:00pm

Meet at Wildlife Center.  Easy 1 hour guided stroll.  No reservations required.
Stage
11:00am  Faith n’ Glory Join this duet for fun, nature-based folk songs that you can sing along with.
11:30am Live Bird Show See majestic birds up close and learn what the Audubon Society of Portland is doing to conserve these animals.
12:30pm Dave Orleans the Earthsinger Enjoy upbeat tunes about the refuge and its wildlife.   

               

 

Special "Birds in Culture" Activities and Exhibits    10:00am – 2:30pm 

  

Wildlife Art Meet “Pablo” from Pampeana—offering nature-inspired handmade wood and glass art that is sustainably-made and fairly-traded.  Proceeds from sales benefit Friends of the Refuge.
Basket Weaving Meet Connie Graves—a traditional weaver from the Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde.  Connie will demonstrate her craft and help kids weave a small project to take home.
Wildlife Photography Exhibit Explore our local wildlife treasures through the work of the Refuge’s brand new Nature Photography Club.

      

All Day Activities   10:00am – 2:30pm   

                 

Wild Things Have fun with a variety of hands-on and educational activities for all ages.
Conservation Corner Learn about our local conservation partners and what they do to protect and restore the Tualatin River and its watershed.
Native Plant Sale Learn about and purchase native plants that will attract wildlife to your home. Proceeds benefit Friends of the Refuge.
Food Fest Nourish your body with food and beverages.
Blue Goose The mascot of the National Wildlife Refuge System, the Blue Goose, will stop by to visit with festival goers. A great photo op!

 

Directions and Parking

  • Free parking will be available at Home Depot off Highway 99W in Sherwood.  Follow signs to parking area.
  • Free shuttle buses will run continuously to and from the event from 9:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 
  • Those needing additional accommodations or disabled access may park at the Wildlife Center.
  • Visitors can also take Tri-Met bus #12 directly to the Refuge.
  • Get driving directions.
