Service to Host Public Meeting to Discuss Planning Process for Arctic National Wildlife Refuge Comprehensive Conservation Plan
On Tuesday, May 4, 2010, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will hold a public scoping meeting to discuss the 22 year-old Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. This planning process will establish goals and objectives and include wilderness and wild and scenic river reviews. The session will help the Service identify issues and draft alternatives for future stewardship of the refuge.
A CCP is required for each National Wildlife Refuge, guides stewardship of the refuge and is normally updated every 15 years. Additional information about the planning process, including the locations of future public meetings can be found at http://arctic.fws.gov.
