M.A. Fisheries Biology (1993) Frostburg State University. Thesis: Protogynous sex reversal in a cichlid fish.

B.A. Aquatic Biology (1986) University of California, Santa Barbara.

Previous Experience:

Fishery Biologist, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, 1995 - 2002. Conceive and administer aquatic habitat enhancement projects in the southern half of the state of Florida, including removal of invasive and/or exotic species and introduction of beneficial native plants. Supervise and administer permitting of herbivorous triploid grass carp in public and private waters. Create and maintain portions of the agency internet site.

Fishery Biologist, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, 1990-1995. Undertake fish population surveys, creel surveys and data analysis and reporting for fisheries in the Florida Everglades.

Other Interests:

Aquariums, bonsai, sci-fi, camping, fishing and unending home improvement projects.
