The 16th annual Spring Wings Festival is scheduled for May 17 - 19, based again at the Churchill County Parks and Recreation Multipurpose center off Sheckler Rd in Fallon, NV.
The Spring Wings Birding and Outdoor Festival celebrates International Migratory Bird Day, as well as the return of thousands of migrating songbirds, shorebirds, raptors and waterfowl to the Lahontan Valley. Guided tours are offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Exhibits, seminars, kids activities and family fun are scheduled.
Join a Meander the Marsh kayak float; take Wild Images with a professional wildlife photographer in the field; become a biologist for a day with the Carson River Wood Duck research project; learn about the People of the Marsh by visiting tribal rock art and an ancient cave overlooking the Stillwater marsh; attend a variety of workshops such as bird decoy carving, an Optics seminar by Cabelas pro-staff; or get the birds eye view of the beautiful Tahoe Rim Trail. Special program Friday, May 17 is the Amazing Birds of Prey by Master lady Falconer Marie Gaspari-Crawford and her feathered raptor friends.
