About Scott Hamilton

I work primarily in the Natural Resource Damage, Assessment, and Restoration program. My main focus is the restoration of mined lands in southwest Missouri, within the Tri-State Mining District. I coordinate the creation of wildlife habitat in areas where historic lead and zinc mining has taken place, and subsequently been remediated by the EPA. I also collect data and assist in the creation of legal claims against mining companies. I serve as the species lead for a threatened species, the American Burying Beetle, which has been re-introduced as an experimental population into southwest Missouri.
