Directions
Both refuges are located along Highway 87 at the southeastern tip of Texas, near the Louisiana border. Approximately 15 miles south of Port Arthur and 90 miles east of Houston, Texas Point NWR is located adjacent to the town of Sabine Pass, while McFaddin NWR lies 12 miles further to the west. Hours
McFaddin and Texas Point NWRs are open daily from one hour before sunrise until one hour after sunset. Special regulations are in effect during the waterfowl hunting season.
The headquarters for both refuges was lost due to Hurricane Ike. Temporary headquarters are located on Hwy 73 in Port Arthur at the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s headquarters for the J.D. Murphree Wildlife Management Area. This temporary office is open 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
Facilities
Portable restroom facilities are provided at the ten mile cut bridge, and at the parking area at Texas Point NWRThere is no drinking water available on the refuges.

Motels and restaurants are available in the Golden Triangle area of Beaumont, Orange and Port Arthur.
