Hunting at Salt Plains

Deer hunts are administered in cooperation with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. Deer hunters are drawn by ODWC. For details about applications or to find out if you were drawn. Visit the ODWC's controlled hunting website at http://www.wildlifedepartment.com/controlhunt.htm

Pheasant, Quail, Dove, Ducks, Geese and Sandhill crane hunting is permitted on designated areas (see map with regulation download).

There are 4 parking areas along the north side of Hwy 11. They are marked by signs indicating Parking Lot A, B, C or D. Park in designated parking areas only. Before going into the hunting units, you must fill out a hunter registration form at the "Refuge Regulations" board. Take the form off of the nail, fill out right side of the card and drop it into the specified box.

Keep the other side of the form with you at all times, keeping track of the species harvested. At the end of your hunt, drop the rest of the registration card into the box before leaving the refuge. Download the Hunting Regs and Parking Areas Map
