Most of the festival events occur on the refuge, but many events are held off the refuge, either at the Byron Fish Hatchery Watchable Wildlife Area or the Great Salt Plains State Park. Download the map for direction information.

Byron Fish Hatchery Watchable Wildlife Area - Visit the nature center for fun for the entire family. Each family can build their own bluebird nestbox to take home with them!

Wildlife Photography Session with renowned wildlife photographer Bill Horn (www.birdsofoklahoma.net). Enjoy a presentation about photographing these secretive subjects. Workshop participants will have classroom/field time.

Wildlife Art Show - Head to Cherokee to view local artwork displayed on the courthouse lawn. Don't forget to visit Marion Goodwin's Art Gallery in Cherokee! Reptile Rehabilitation - Tandy Keenan, a biologist and reptile rehabilitator from Texas County, will talk about working with reptiles. Tandy will also demonstrate techniques to identify venomous snakes and spiders. Adults and kids, alike, will enjoy learning about these misunderstood creatures.
