Wildflower Walk

Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge will be conducting interpretive "Wildflower Walks" for the general public (check the tour schedule for exact dates). A casual walk will be enjoyed at two or three stops in order to identify wildflowers located in a variety of habitats. Each tour will last approximately two and one half hours.

Due to the length of the program, children must be at least eight years of age to participate. A $5.00 reservation fee per participant will be collected at the beginning of the tour. Reservations will be retained until ten minutes prior to the beginning of the tour. After that time, standbys will be accepted. If the bus seating is filled after accepting standbys, late arrivals with reservations will not be able to participate in the program. The bus will depart promptly at the time specified.

Reservations are accepted on a first come, first served basis and may be made by calling on the following line only: (580) 429-2151. Interested persons are advised that the Refuge's public programs are intended for individuals and family units. We regret that we cannot provide tours for groups. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and dress appropriately for seasonal changes. Binoculars, cameras, and magnifying glasses are encouraged to increase the visitor's appreciation of flowers, wildlife, and habitats.
