14 Year Old Ewe Memorial Page

The last indigenous desert bighorn in southern New Mexico died December 17, 2003. The loss of this ewe marked the end of the original San Andres Mountains desert bighorn sheep herd. Fortunately, she had a ram lamb in 2002 and a ewe lamb in 2003 to pass on some of her wisdom and genes.
