Volunteers at Las Vegas NWR

The Volunteer Program at Las Vegas was formalized in 2002, and has already seen substantial growth. Volunteers assist refuge staff with a variety of activities on the refuge and within the community. Our volunteers are a great group of people and we appreciate all that they do for the refuge and our community.

Volunteering at a National Wildlife Refuge is a win-win situation; providing the volunteer with a sense of pride and accomplishment, while mutually benefiting the refuge staff, the local community, and ultimately the wildlife. Las Vegas NWR Volunteers are chosen based on combining current Refuge needs with the skills and interests of prospective volunteers. Whether you want to make a long or short-term commitment, there are volunteer opportunities for everyone.

If you would like information about becoming involved in our volunteer program, please contact the refuge volunteer coordinator, Kristin Küyük at Kristin_Kuyuk@fws.gov, or by calling 505-425-3581.

Volunteers greet visitors and provide them with information about bird sightings on the seasonal fall flight wildlife drive.
