Education & Outreach

Educational programs are now available at the Refuge! The refuge is an excellent location for hands-on, experiential learning. Programs on a variety of topics are offered for your school, business or civic group. Most programs - particularly the school programs - include a multimedia component within our office building, followed by guided exploration outdoors.

All programs are provided free of charge, and require a reservation. We ask that you contact the refuge at least one week prior to your anticipated visit, to ensure that the staff is prepared to offer you the best educational experience while visiting the refuge. If your group has a specific topic of interest or any special needs, please let us know, and we will do all that we can to accommodate your requests.

A call for presenters: We are also compiling a list of potential educators/ lecturers to participate in regularly scheduled evening/ weekend presentations at the refuge headquarters. If you, or someone you know, might be interested in giving an educational presentation or demonstration contact the education program coordinator, Kristin Küyük at 505-425-3581, or Kristin_Kuyuk@fws.gov.
