Visitors

The staff at Inks Dam National Fish Hatchery is always excited to share the work we do and educate visitors on the mission at Inks Dam NFH and the mission of the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Many of the local Independent School Districts, day cares, home school classrooms and other groups visit the hatchery annually.

Visitor Center Hours

Open seven days a week, including federal holidays
7:00 am to 3:30 pm

Driving Directions

345 Clay Young Road, Burnet, Texas 78611

From Austin, TX:

  • Take I35 North to Georgetown (State Highway 29 exit West)
  • Follow State Highway 29 through Burnet, Texas for 9 miles and turn left on Park Road 4
  • Follow Park Road 4 (South) for 7 miles and main hatchery entrance is on Park Road 4

For questions on tours, or to arrange a tour, please contact our office at (512) 793-2474.

Basic hatchery information is provided at the Visitors Center. Visitors wishing to do self-guided tours, trail hiking, our enjoying the park can do so at their leisure. Maps are available on our Environmental Education page, at the office or Visitor Center. The Visitor center, ashe juniper bird blind and Education center are ADA compliant.
