Visitors

Visitors are welcome to tour the facility during normal Visitor Center hours. A touch screen slide show presentation is offered in the Administrative Building as well as information panels and pamphlets. Both guided and self-guided tours are available.

Driving Directions

7116 Hatchery Rd, Dexter, NM

From Roswell:

• Take Highway 285 south
• Turn off onto Hwy 2 (Dexter/Hagerman), five miles outside of Roswell
• Follow Hwy 2 for 12 miles into Dexter, NM
• Continue on NM 190/Shawnee Rd across the railroad tracks
• 1/2 mile from the railroad tracks turn right into the Southwestern Native Aquatic Resources & Recovery Center

Tours

We offer guided tours to groups or individuals. The Administrative center is wheelchair accessible, however the ponds are not. Restroom facilities and a small shaded area near the main building are available.

For self-guided tours stop by the front desk and the outreach team will be happy to direct you to the ponds that are best viewed during your visit.
