Welcome to the Dexter National Fish Hatchery & Technology Center, visitors are welcome to tour the facility on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., excluding Federal Holidays. For directions to the facility, visit our Contact page. A Touch Screen Slide Show presentations is offered in the Administrative Building as well as information panels and pamphlets. Both guided and self-guided tours are available.

Tours:

  • We offer guided on-site tours to groups or individuals, please call or e-mail to schedule a tour of the facility, Michelle Bell can assist you in setting up a date & time, she can be reached at (505)734-5910, X10.

  • If you are interested in an off-site presentation for a group or school, once again we ask that you contact Mrs. Bell.
  • If you would like to drop by and visit, we do offer a self-guided tour. Visitors are allowed to observe the species that are located outside. Before you begin your tour, we ask that you stop by the front desk and the outreach team will be happy to direct you to ponds that are best viewed during your visit.  We currently have 72 ponds on station and 4 outdoor raceways.

The administrative building is wheelchair accessable, however our ponds are not. We also have restroom facilities and offer a small shaded area around the main building.
