This Audio Library is the first website within U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to feature a comprehensive collection of audio clips highlighting the programs and activities funded by the Federal Aid Division, Southwest Region 2. It contains approximately 75 informational messages voiced by individuals who currently administer, oversee and conduct Federal Aid-funded activities in this region.

Here you will meet some of the people in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas who are working to conserve and restore our nation's fisheries and wildlife resources. You'll also hear stories from those who oversee efforts to enhance fishing, hunting and boating opportunities across the Southwest. We hope you enjoy hearing about the various Federal Aid programs and will share any comments you might have about the Audio Library or its content. Look for our "Email us your comments" link at the bottom of each page.  Thanks for listening!

Requirements
You will need a RealMedia® player or Windows Media® player to hear our audio messages. These players are free and can be downloaded off the internet. Click on the link below to download the free software or for Help with Audio. Top

How to listen
Once you have a player installed, look for this series of text links:  Real | Win | Text. Next ... click on Real to activate the RealMedia clip, on Win to activate the Windows Media clip and on Text for an audio transcription. A small Real or Windows player should appear on your screen and the clips will automatically start to play. You may stop and start the clip using the player's control buttons. The volume can be adjusted using the controls on the player or on your computer speakers. You may also change the size of the player using the View pull-down tab in the Menu Bar when the player is open. Top

Format
The audio clips featured in this library range in length from 30- to 90-seconds. They were recorded over the telephone so the levels of audio quality will vary. The clips are formatted to download completely onto your desktop before activating. As a result, a copy of the audio clip will appear either on your desktop or in a folder within the player application. The files' names will begin with R2, AZ, NM, OK or TX and end in .rm or .wma. You may save the audio files or simply delete them by dragging them into the trash. The time it takes for an audio clip to download and activate will depend on the length of the clip, your computer's processor and the speed of your internet connection. Top

Accessibility
Every audio clip is presented in a text version. Visitors using a screen reader may tab past the Real and Win links to the Text link, which will open the page with the audio transcription. The "close window" link at the bottom of each transcription page will return you to your place on the previous page. If you choose to listen to the audio clip, simply do a "quit" command once the audio clip has stopped playing. The player will close and you will automatically be returned to your place on the page.
