The NMESFO is working cooperatively with our Arizona counterparts in an effort to reduce the environmental impacts of the Phelps Dodge Morenci copper mine to migratory birds, and to remediate any contamination that may have been released over the years to the San Francisco and Gila Rivers, and the San Carlos Reservoir.
